Our Christmas Eve plate collection will support the Boston Immigration Justice Accompaniment Network, or BIJAN. As we reflect on the story of Christmas, it seems fitting that we contribute to an organization that exists to ensure that migrant families receive a warm welcome in our midst. BIJAN has been on the forefront of groups responding to the critical basic needs of families impacted by our inadequate shelter system and lack of support for immigrants in general. These conditions are in flux at this pivotal moment and BIJAN is adapting by arranging hotel stays, rides, blankets, medicine, and food. No matter what the need, BIJAN is responding with humanity to a system that often does not respect the worth and dignity of all. Please give generously to help make sure that there is “room at the inn” for migrant families!
