SUNDAY WORSHIP 10:30AM ONLINE & IN-PERSON

Communal Learning

Because we recognize that religious education and faith formation matter throughout the lifespan, UU Wellesley Hills offers adult programs specially tailored to our friends and members and led by one of our ministers. Past topics have included communicating end-of-life plans and wishes, understanding religious themes in Unitarian and Universalist history, clarifying essential communications in close relationships, and more recently, understanding racism in America–its history and how we change its destructive legacy.

This Fall, we led a book discussion on our Fall 2023 UUSWH Common Read, The Color of Law: A Forgotten History of How Our Government Segrgated America, by Richard Rothstein. This book shatters the myth that de facto housing segregation was by personal choice.

In the Spring, we turn to the memoir of actor Elliot Page. The book is titled Pageboy: A Memoir and tells the riveting story of the female star of the blockbuster movie “Juno” who transitions to male. The Academy Award-nominated actor recounts the emotionally wrenching decision to become his true self and the challenges and joy that follow. Our Spring Common Read discussion is scheduled for March 26th.
